WORD OF THE YEAR 2019

Happy New Year! I am so happy you are here.

In 2013 I started coming up with my WOTY. How many of you do the same?

Have you determined what yours will be for 2019? I struggled with a few different ones. I felt very strongly about one word in particular and woke up on Friday night, December 28th and just knew I was supposed to change it.

My 2019 Word of the Year is: I N T E N T I O N A L

2018 was a very unusual year for me. I had all these great things I wanted to accomplish and while some were, I felt pulled in 100 different directions. I gave my all to others and put myself on the backburner.

This year is all about INTENT. Everything I do going forward will be with intent. If that requires me to say no to some things or people, I will be okay with doing so. I have a very heavy “to-do” or “to accomplish list” for 2019. I will give it my all and make the things important in my life a priority.

I have broken down my GOAL List the following way:
1. Spiritual
2. Personal Development
3. Health
4. Romance
5. Family
6. Business/Career
7. Finances
8. Fun & Recreation
9. Social

I listened to a podcast and this was the quick & dirty explanation of each category.

Spiritual – the inner part of yourself.

Personal Development – your mind. How are going to be better at who you are? What am I going to do to grow myself?
Health – what am I going to do to take care of my body?

Romance - this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. What will I do to contribute to a healthy relationship?

Family – when we take the time to reflect on how we’d like our family to grow, we invest in our family’s success.

Business/Career – what am I going to do in my business or career that’s going to move it forward?

Finances – what do I want to achieve financially?

Fun & Recreation – what am I going to do for fun?

Social – how can I nurture my friendships?

I really like the breakdown of each category. I believe this is an easier way to focus the whys of what is important to me. I have listed about 4-5 different ways to focus on each topic throughout the year. This seems manageable and exciting!

Do you have goals for the new year? Have you put together a written plan to hold yourself accountable and track your success?

Until next time.

Joy in the journey,
Jess
